I started Martial Arts aged 18 in 1993 attending Karate class held at local school hall. It was call Jutsu Karate under Sensei Steve Carter.

1994 Jutsu Karate split and my Sensei joined Jiyuseishin Karate with other teachers previously with Jutsu. I stayed with Sensei Carter and joined this association also.

 Teachers at Jiyuseishin were looking to further develop their understanding of Martial Arts. In their search they found Goju Ryu school of Chris Clifford Sensei.

It was obvious that this was a completely  higher understanding of Goju Ryu.

1999 to present – Goju Ryu – Sensei Chris Clifford. Disciple of Grand Master Ichikawa Sosui.  Bromley Dojo.

As a Student of Sensei Clifford I have been fortunate to have studied with his Master the late Ichikawa Sosui and I am Dojo member of Sosuikan.

I was introduced to the good friend of Sensei Chris Clifford, Yonemoto Kiyoshi Sensei  in 1999 and Study from him both UK and his home Dojo in Japan.

 Goju Ryu –also study with Sensei Bill Stone Disciple of Master Clifford Orpington (Brian Jacks Dojo)

Practice and study with Sensei Bill Stone at Home Dojo and Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey. 

2021 – awarded Bubishi by Sensei Chris Clifford after 28 years Martial Arts study.

2021  with the permission os Sensei Chris Clifford I Opened own Goju Ryu Dojo with Sensei Diane Coombs, Gillingham, Kent.

2022 – Visited Sensei Clifford in Phuket, Thailand, 10 days further study higher levels of Goju Ryu with Sensei Clifford and disciples

I continue every two weeks  to visit my teacher online zoom calls.

I am looking forward to many years to come learning higher levels of Martial Arts under the guidance and correction of Sensei Clifford.
